NIKE ROADRUNNER 1978

“El Correcaminos” de Nike, como siempre buscando nombres capaces de atraer al gran público allá por los años 70.

Realmente es la segunda “hornada” de este modelo, aunque nada tenga que ver con su precursora: Nike Bangkok.

Técnicamente era una zapatilla de su época, con suela de tacos hexagonales (aunque también salieron con tacos circulares) que proporcionaban un agarre un poco inferior a las suelas Waffle y las hacían un poco más polivalentes a la hora de correr en diferentes superficies. También incorporaban refuerzo en la parte delantera para hacerla más duradera.

Si hablamos de colores, la roadrunner se lanzó en varias combinaciones, siendo las más comunes las siguientes: verde con swoosh azul (primera en salir), azul con swoosh plateado, granate con swoosh blanco, así como esta (azul con swoosh amarillo) que se muestra en las fotografias.

In fact, this is the second generation of this model, although it has nothing to do with its original model: Bangkok.

Technically it includes hexagonal or rounded short cleats, that provided lower grip than the Waffle outsole, so that, made this model an appropriated one to be used in many different surfaces. Also it has more reinforcement in the toe.

As for colors, we may find different combinations, being the most usual ones: blue on green ( the first one to be released), silver on blue, white on maroon, and this one shown in the pictures (yellow on blue).
